# What is Auto-Earn?

> Learn what Auto-Earn is and how you can earn BTC on your Funding Account balance without locking your funds.

**Auto-Earn** allows you to earn Bitcoin (BTC) on your available BTC balance held in your **Funding Account**.

When **Auto-Earn** is enabled, Roxom automatically calculates and credits BTC earnings based on your eligible balance, without locking your funds or requiring you to move BTC into a separate Earn wallet.

Auto-Earn is designed to be **simple, liquid, and fully integrated** into your Roxom account.

***

<Warning>
  **Important to know upfront**

  Auto-Earn is designed to reward **consistently holding BTC**, not moving it frequently during the day.

  If your BTC balance changes during the day, earnings are calculated based on the **lowest BTC balance** you held during that 24-hour period.
</Warning>

***

## Where does Auto-Earn apply?

Auto-Earn applies **only** to BTC held in your **Funding Account**.

* ✅ BTC in your **Funding Account** can generate earnings
* ❌ BTC held in a **Unified Trading Account (UTA)** does **not** generate earnings

BTC held in the UTA, including balances tied to trading activity, does not participate in Auto-Earn. Learn more about the difference between these accounts in [Understanding your Roxom accounts](/help-center/account-basics/understanding-your-roxom-accounts).

## How your BTC is held and used in Auto-Earn

Auto-Earn is different from simply holding BTC in your account. When you turn it on and allocate BTC, you authorize Roxom to **use** that BTC to run internal yield strategies.

|                   | Held BTC (not in Auto-Earn) | BTC allocated to Auto-Earn                                                          |
| ----------------- | --------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Roxom uses it | No | **Yes**, you grant a right of use |
| Segregated | Yes | **No**, may be commingled with other users' BTC |
| Where it works | In custody | Roxom's own operations and third-party platforms (currently Binance, Kraken, Bybit) |
| What you get back | Your assets | An **equivalent amount** of BTC, not the same coins |
| Ownership | Yours | You keep title; you grant a right of use while allocated |

Your BTC is still **not locked**: you can redeem at any time, subject to normal operational conditions.

<Warning>
  Auto-Earn is **not a deposit and is not insured**. Earnings are variable, not guaranteed, and may be zero. In extreme scenarios you could lose part or all of the BTC allocated to Auto-Earn. Full detail is in the [Auto-Earn Terms and Conditions](/legal/terms-and-conditions-btc-earn) and the [Risk Notice](/legal/risk-notice).

## How Auto-Earn works (high level)

When you turn on **Auto-Earn**:

* Your available BTC balance in the Funding Account is evaluated against the **minimum balance requirements**
* Earnings are calculated over **full 24-hour accrual windows**
* The calculation uses the **lowest BTC balance** held during each day
* Earned BTC is credited automatically to your account
* Your BTC remains **fully available** to withdraw or use at any time

No manual actions or balance transfers are required.

***

## Auto-Earn and opt-in

Auto-Earn is **not enabled by default**.

You must explicitly turn on **Auto-Earn** to start earning BTC.

Once Auto-Earn is enabled:

* Your eligible BTC balance in the Funding Account is automatically considered
* Future deposits to your Funding Account are included
* BTC already earned and credited is never affected by turning Auto-Earn on or off

<Warning>
  Disabling Auto-Earn **before the daily accrual window closes** may result in forfeiting earnings for that day.
</Warning>

***

## How earnings are calculated

Earnings are calculated using the following rules:

* Calculations are done in **BTC**
* Earnings use **full 24-hour accrual windows**
* The **lowest BTC balance** held during the day is used
* Balance changes during the day may reduce earnings

### Mental model

Think of Auto-Earn as a daily snapshot of your **lowest BTC balance**:

* If your balance drops at any point, that lower balance becomes the reference for the entire day
* Balances are **not averaged**
* The system does **not** use the ending balance of the day

This ensures earnings are based on what you consistently held, not temporary balances.

***

## How Auto-Earn credits appear in your account

Auto-Earn credits are posted automatically to your **Funding Account** once a daily accrual window is completed.

Each credit appears as an account movement labeled **“Auto-Earn BTC”** and increases your BTC balance immediately.

For full details on how credits work, including timing and account entries, see [**Rates, earnings calculation, and credits.**](/help-center/btc-earn/rates-earnings-calculation-and-credits)

***

## Can I withdraw my BTC?

Yes.

Your BTC is **never locked**. You can withdraw or use it at any time.

Withdrawing BTC may affect earnings for the **current accrual window**, but it does not restrict access to your funds.

***

## Is the earn rate guaranteed?

No.

Auto-Earn rates are **variable and not guaranteed**.\
Rates may change or be temporarily unavailable due to market conditions, liquidity considerations, or operational factors.

Any rate changes apply **prospectively** and do not affect BTC already credited.

***

## Important note

<Note>
  Auto-Earn involves risk. Returns are variable and not guaranteed.

  Roxom may adjust, pause, or update Auto-Earn to manage liquidity, market conditions, or operational risk. Any changes apply prospectively and do not affect BTC already credited.
