# My account was compromised

> What to do if you suspect your Roxom account has been accessed without your authorization.

If you believe your account has been compromised, follow these steps immediately.

## Secure your email first

Most account takeovers start with email. If an attacker controls your email, they can trigger authentication flows and lock you out. Securing your email first cuts off their main point of access.

1. Change your email password immediately
2. Enable 2FA on your email account before doing anything else

## Re-secure your Roxom account

Once your email is safe, lock down the Roxom account itself, not just the inbox.

* **If you can still log in**: go to your security settings and reset your security methods, removing any you don't recognize and re-enrolling a [Passkey or Authenticator app](/help-center/security-access/how-to-secure-my-roxom-account).
* **If you're locked out**: don't keep retrying. Contact support right away (next step) so the team can help secure the account.

<Note>
  Removing a security method pauses withdrawals for 24 hours as a safety precaution. If your account was compromised, this delay works in your favor: it gives the team time to act before funds can leave.
</Note>

## Contact support

If something feels off, write to [help@roxom.com](mailto:help@roxom.com). Share:

* Your account email
* A description of what you noticed
* Any relevant timestamps

The more context you provide, the faster we can investigate.

<Warning>
  Roxom staff will never ask for your OTP codes or attempt to authenticate on your behalf.
</Warning>

## Check for unauthorized transactions

Go to your transaction history and look for any withdrawals or operations you don't recognize. Note the amounts, timestamps, and destination addresses, and include all of that in your support report. You can also report unauthorized transactions to our Financial Crime Prevention team using the [report form](https://form.jotform.com/260984835353063). Acting quickly increases the chances of tracing the activity.
