What are Futures?
A Futures is a financial instrument that lets you trade on the price movement of another asset, without owning that asset directly. In Roxom, these are perpetual futures contracts — meaning:- They don’t expire
- You can go long (buy) or short (sell)
- You trade contracts whose prices follow assets like Gold or the S&P 500 through their tokenized or ETF underlyings (e.g., PAXG for Gold, SPY for S&P 500)
- Everything is quoted, margined and settled in BTC
You’re not buying the asset — you’re trading on its price in Bitcoin. Want the full technical details? Check the Perpetual Futures Contract section in our Rulebook.
Example: What does GOLD/BTC mean?
Let’s say gold is trading at $3,000 per ounce and Bitcoin is trading at $100,000. The GOLD/BTC contract might be priced around 0.03 BTC, meaning 1 ounce of gold is worth 0.03 BTC.- If you think the gold price (in BTC terms) will go up, you can buy (go long)
- If you think it’ll go down, you can sell (go short)
What makes Roxom futures different?
- BTC-only — Everything is in Bitcoin. No stablecoins, no fiat
- Perpetuals — No expiration or rollover. Positions stay open as long as you want
- Real-world assets — Trade gold, oil, and major equity indices — all using BTC
- 24/7 trading — Some contracts (like GOLD/BTC) are always open
- Isolated margin — Each position is independent — one loss won’t wipe out your account
What do I need to start?
All you need is BTC.- Deposit Bitcoin into your Funding Account
- Transfer it to your Unified Trading Account (UTA)
- Pick a contract, choose your leverage, and open a position
